How plastic fuels climate change.
The climate impact does not begin when an object is thrown away. Fossil feedstock is extracted and refined, polymers are made in energy-intensive processes, products are formed, transported and eventually treated as waste.

More plastic means more lifecycle emissions.
That baseline would equal a projected 4.5% of global greenhouse-gas emissions. The point is not that every plastic object has the same footprint; it is that material demand keeps compounding.
Why bamboo belongs in the conversation.
A renewable input can reduce dependence on fossil-derived material, but the whole lifecycle still matters: cultivation, processing, adhesives, transport, durability and disposal.

A toothbrush will not solve the climate crisis. But daily oral-care, cleaning and packaged-wellness products are bought again and again, so their materials quietly shape manufacturing demand every month.
The honest opportunity is category by category: reduce avoidable fossil-derived material and make the remaining material legible.

Useful-life and disposal guidance are part of product information because a material choice only works when it is used and handled properly.
What we will not claim.
Climate communication should make uncertainty visible. Until Valar Life completes product-specific lifecycle assessments, we will not turn global studies into precise savings for our own products.
- We will not call a product carbon neutral or carbon negative without an independently reviewable lifecycle method.
- We will not publish exact CO2 avoided per item by borrowing averages from unrelated supply chains.
- We will not say one material is automatically sustainable; processing, durability and end-of-life still count.
- We will correct this page when better evidence changes the picture.

Global numbers are reproduced as dated estimates, not presented as Valar Life measurements. Product-level language is deliberately qualitative until we have supply-chain-specific lifecycle data.
